Last year they changed their name from The Conversation and recorded a demo, Pep, that saw Steve Lamacq proclaim them his new favourite band.

After that they went on the road and supported everyone from The Breeders to The Strokes. This time, Polytechnic appear as part of Eastbourne Music Live - a new initiative to bring more live music to the town and showcase homegrown talent alongside national and international acts.

Polytechnic are supported by indie synth-rock band The 5.40s and Natalie's Box, a mix of drum 'n' bass, reggae and rappin' vocals.
