Some bands live only down the road from the Great Escape, others like Annuals are having to travel across the Atlantic to join in the fun, only to play in the wee small hours of the morning.
The North Carolina-based band is based around trio of friends Adam Baker, Kenny Florence and Mike Robinson.
Drawing influences from noiseniks like Aphex Twin, as well as songwriters like Brian Wilson, Paul Simon and Hank Williams, the band has been compared to Arcade Fire and Sufjan Stevens.
Look out for their first single, Brother, released next month.
