Sea Monsters is a five-day festival taking place at the Prince Albert to coincide with the release of a new 18-track compilation by the One Inch Badge label on Monday, January 31.
The label can only release a few records every year so has put together the compilation as a way to share music by the bands the label bosses like. Many of the bands on the CD will play the festival.
Today's show features alt-country from Salter Cane (pictured), post rockers Crown On The Rats Orchestra and The Squadron Leaders.
Tomorrow Drum Eyes headline a night of experimental sounds which includes Cold Pumas, The Sticks and Speak Galactic.
Doors 8pm, tickets £4 per night, £15 for a week pass. Call Resident on 01273 606312, Rounder Records on 01273 325440 or Edgeworld Records on 01273 628262.
