A band whose aim is to "save our souls one pint at a time" sound okay to us. The good-time band are known for "straddling the fence between Saturday night drinkin' and Sunday mornin' goin' to church".
Their material takes in bluegrass, country, jazz, gospel and blues. They count Mark Lamarr as a fan, after he wandered into a record shop at last year's South By Southwest festival.
In the corner of the shop was the band, complete with upright bass, washboard, banjo, dobro and even jug and saw.
Since then, Lamarr has made it his mission to introduce Boxcar Preachers to the world and this tour will include appearances on Radio 2.
