This party collective are one of the great exports of Barcelona's Mestizo scene, famous worldwide for its creative approach to music.
Led by vocalist Meri Lopez and accompanied by an incredibly tight horn section, the band combines rumba, reggae, funk, samba and Caribbean sounds.
Formed in 1999, Costo Rico caught the ear of Latin superstar Manu Chao, who placed them on his La Colifata sampler. This brought them fame throughout South America and parts of Europe and they have gone onto release an EP and two albums.
