Chris Cox answers The Guide's big comedy questions - look out for more during the Brighton Comedy Festival.

What were you most scared of as a child? Ghost trains & haunted house type rides. I had an irrational fear that they would break down and I would then be attacked by the props and be the first person to die on a ghost train. I suppose in many respects I was also afraid of having an ironic death. Like I am also afraid of my house being burnt down by stress relief candles.

What is the funniest thing you've ever seen or heard? Anyone, anywhere falling over. Especially if they were doing something stupid. I love watching someone fall, it brings me joy. Schadenfreude based laughs really give me a big belly laugh of LOLZ.

What would people be most surprised to learn about you? That I have three sisters. I think when people know that about me it explains a lot.

What's your biggest regret? Stupid this, but when I was about 11 years old I was on the TV gameshow Run The Risk. I let my partner do the first challenge, but I thought I should have done it, but was just being kind. She was rubbish and didn't do very well. I spent many hours when I was younger wishing I could go back in time and change it so I could do the challenge. I was much more stable in the gunge she just wussed out of it.

What's your solution for world peace? I have just finished reading God! No, the new book by my friend Penn Jillette. It's fantastic. He re-writes the ten commandments from the view of an atheist. They really make sense, so I'd suggest people read that and adhere to them. In essence I think it boils down to love, care, and respect.

What's your worst habit? I'm pretty perfect and exceptionally modest. It's probably planning. I don't like having work or things to do so plan exactly what I'll do, when I'll do it and will be stressed till I do that. For example on tour I'll be in the car and say to my tour manager, when I get to the venue you start to unload, I'll have a wee, then I'll come help we'll take this then that, then you do the lights and I'll do this and blah blah blah... I get stressed thinking about it.

What's the worst injury you've ever had and how did you get it? I actually got off pretty lightly. On my tour last year we had a major crash, completely wrote off the van we were driving as it did three flips going from 70mph across three lanes of motorway traffic and landing in a verge by the hard shoulder. Neither me nor Damian my tour manager got anything worse than a few cuts and some whiplash. I have photos to show how much of a write off the van was. I got out of it to look for my phone, a guy pulled over who'd seen it, ran up to me and asked me how the **** I was still alive. That was nice of him.

What would you change about yourself if you could? I'd be slightly less scrawny / skinny. Also my nails wouldn't grow quite so quickly. It's stupid I have to cut them every week at least.

What's the greatest thing money can't buy and the greatest thing it can? Obviously the greatest thing it can buy is tickets to my show. That or a hot fudge sundae. It can't buy you love, happiness or that goosebump feeling you get when you're excited about something. In fact it kind of can. In the show I'll give you those moments of wow, those moments where anything suddenly seems possible, normally you can't buy that. I should be charging more really.

Can you sum up your latest show in 25 words? Five Star, award winning, mind reading without me actually being able to read your minds, laughs, love, a story and I Love Cox badges.

How do you keep the show fresh when performing night after night? The great thing about what I do is that everything involves my audience, it's all about mind-reading them so every night it's different depending on what they are thinking or who I get on stage. It keeps me on my toes and keeps the show as fresh as some flowers freshly picked from a fresh garden in Freshville.
