Derek COLEMAN

COLEMAN Derek 09.07.1948 - 20.09.2022 Sadly passed away at home at the age of 74. Derek was predeceased by his parents George Coleman and Edith Coleman, and his Sister Beryl Coleman. Derek is survived by his Wife Mary and their Son Hayden. His Daughter Sharon, her Partner Dan and their Son Blake. Also, his Brother Terry and his Daughter Mandy. Derek was born and grew up in Isfield, Sussex. The family were active in St. Margaret's Church as well as the village. Derek grew up on the family farm and he attended Isfield Primary School. He went on to study at Lewes County Grammar School. His first job was in Midland Bank in Reigate, Surrey which he left to pursue an opportunity in an agricultural supplies company. He was then offered a position with an international company dealing with fertilizer and similar products. This opened a lifetime career for Derek, covering the African Continent with much worldwide travel. It was in Kenya where he met Mary and they eventually settled in South Africa for work and to start their family. In his leisure time, Derek loved to fish and shoot. Derek loved a fun time and had a great sense of humour. Not only was he a great cook in the kitchen, but he also loved to BBQ and entertain friends and family on the patio. Derek, we miss you. Rest in peace. The Funeral Service for Derek will be on Tuesday 11th October at 13:30, at St Margaret's Church, Isfield. Memorial donations may be made in Derek's name to St Margaret's Church.
