Police believe two young women could be the victims of the same sex attacker.

Sussex Police are investigating two assaults in Brighton within a month which left the victims shocked, upset but uninjured.

The latest incident happened just after midnight on Saturday, December 8 when a 21-year old student was indecently touched as she walked into Hollingdean Road from the Vogue Gyratory.

The first incident took place nearby in Upper Hollingdean Road at about 7.30am on Sunday, November 18 when a man indecently touched a 26-year-old woman jogger.

Detectives believe this may also be the same man who minutes earlier on that Sunday, December 9 tried unsuccessfully to steal from a woman on the eastern pathway of The Level.

Extra patrols have been sent into the area in response to the attacks.

The suspect is described as being dark-haired, of Asian or mixed race appearance, in his late 20s to early 30s, 5ft 9in or 5ft 10in and of medium to chubby build.

Detective Constable Leon Ryan said: “It is not clear what the real motive was in these incidents. The man did not speak to or threaten the women and just made off.

“We need to find him as quickly as possible and we hope that people may have seen him or recognise him from the description.”

Anyone with information should contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1352 of 11/11.
