A midwife at the centre of an investigation into the death of a baby had been complained about four years earlier.
Kelly Harman said the birth of her first child Olivia in August 2008 at Royal Sussex County Hospital was a “disgusting” ordeal.
She complained to hospital bosses about the way she was treated by midwife Linda Pallett.
The midwife is currently being investigated for failing to properly care for a seriously ill baby who subsequently died in August.
After reading about the new allegations in The Argus, Miss Harman, 33, from Seaford, said: “It was disgusting.
“She was my main midwife and did not look after me at all.
“She left me in a room for hours when I was being really violently sick.
“When she was examining me I asked her to stop but she didn’t and I had to push her off.
“It scarred me for life – it was awful.”
Heart rate scan
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is investigating an allegation that in August 2012 Pallett failed to recognise that a baby was suffering from a potentially fatal rapid heart rate in a scan and did not react.
She was initially told to do 450 hours of supervised work by health bosses, but was then suspended.
The NMC has now imposed more conditions on her, stopping her working as a midwife or a nurse until she has gone on a course and done supervised work while the watchdog investigates.
NMC papers reveal Pallett was also supervised when she was working after being investigated for failings in 2008 in “interpretation of a clinical situation, lack of observations of a client, and lack of documentation and escalation of the situation”.
A spokesman for Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Royal Sussex County Hospital, said: “The midwife is not currently working for the trust.
“We are reviewing the case and are working with the LSA midwifery officer to meet the conditions of practice.
“We take complaints about our services extremely seriously and are happy to meet with Kelly Harman to discuss her concerns further.”
