Hundreds of dancers at Brighton and Hove High School (BHHS) took the stage to perform in front of a packed audience on January 31 and February 1.
A total of 190 girls performed a variety of dance styles at The Old Market Theatre in Brighton. There were representatives from all year groups from Year 4 to Year 13, where the older girls mentored the younger dancers.
The evenings showcased the variety of dance available at BHHS, both as part of the curriculum as well as after school activities.
Some of the best moments of the night were the Year 4 girls ‘skeleton party’ piece and the A level group piece, taught by recent leavers, now taking Dance at higher education level.
A new addition to this year’s show was the collaborative piece between a live string ensemble, a choir and the dancers, which resulted in a memorable version of Just Jack’s Embers.
All pieces were produced under the artistic direction of Sue James, Head of Dance at BHHS, assisted by colleagues and sixth formers.
