It is more commonly viewed on a small hand-held device, with iconic coloured pieces and regular beeping.
But Tetris took a human form on Brighton beach at the weekend, as performers forced the worlds of theatre and digital to collide.
The human shapes rolling down the beach were to promote workshops by Root Experience Theatre, which are running at Lighthouse from mid-March.
It will lead to people playing out a game on Brighton’s streets, with the use of digital technology.
And in May the group intends to take to the beach again – this time to play Snake.
Theatre director Simon Magnus said: “Playing games is a fundamental part of humanity.
“We’re pulling it into theatre and seeing how role-playing games can be used in a physical theatrical space.”
