A woman had her nose bitten off during a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk at a Butlins holiday resort.
The 47-year-old had her nose chewed off while at the holiday camp in Bognor on Thursday.
Police, confirming she had “head and facial injuries”, said: “Shortly after 6.30pm on Thursday, police were called to Butlins after a report that a 47-year-old woman from Aylesbury, Kent, who had been staying at the centre had been assaulted whilst in the concert/theatre area where a performance of Jack In the Beanstalk was taking place.
“She was treated for her injuries at St Richards Hospital, Chichester, including an attempt to replace a piece of her nose which had allegedly been bitten off by the offender. She has since been discharged from hospital to recuperate.
“A 27-year old woman from Dartford, Kent, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has now been released on police bail until June 16 while enquiries continue.”
Detective Sergeant Mark Townsend said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact us via 101 quoting serial 1257 of 11/4.”
