A robot-inspired artist is set to have his work displayed in a plush New York hotel.
Matt Whistler, who is well known in Brighton and Hove for not only his art but also stand-up comedy, caught the attention of bosses of the Yotel hotel in Manhattan.
The futuristic chain, which also has a Gatwick branch, is to display Mr Whistler’s artwork from the start of May.
As well as a robotic arm in the reception area, other pieces will be displayed around the 10th Avenue hotel.
Mr Whistler, 31, of Goldstone Road, Brighton, said: “I’ve been an artist for 20 years but I’ve never revealed my obsession with robots before.
“When I was a child I used to draw giant robots using felt tip pens to try to impress my dad.
“I’m trying to create the idea of art through recycling. I suppose it is quite a green concept.”
