People are being invited to open days to learn more about a charity’s work.

The Red Cross will be offering first aid tips and demonstrations as well as talking about volunteering roles available.

These range from providing potentially life-saving first aid at public events to making a real difference to the lives of the vul- nerable people in the community.

Red Cross community resilience manager Matthew Moors said: “Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Red Cross and they are lifelines to all the people they help.

“We’re looking for more people to join our first aid group in Heathfield and also need more volunteers for our carers support service across East Sussex.”

The first open house recruitment event takes place at the Red Cross centre in Streatfield Road, Heathfield, on May 21 from 3pm to 6.30pm.

It will be followed by another on the same day at the Uckfield Civic Centre in Bell Lane from 6.30pm to 9pm.
