Before the election for the police and crime commissioner posts, I stated after seeing the list of candidates that this post was becoming political (Letters, July 4, 2012).
How right I was when the Sussex commissioner appointed a Conservative as deputy.
Now they have followed their political masters by jumping on the perks and expenses bandwagon, as demonstrated by other areas under this authority.
It brings me no satisfaction to say I told you so.
