A post office will close next month so it can get a makeover.
Burgess Hill Post Office in Church Walk will close on Saturday June 15 so that work can begin to turn it into a new-style open-plan branch with longer opening hours.
It will have five serving positions, two of them open-plan, two more screened counter positions and a Post Office serving point at the retail counter.
Open for an extra five hours a week, its new opening hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
The branch will reopen at 9am on Wednesday July 3 and during its closure the nearest branches are Hassocks Post Office at 44 Keymer Road, Hassocks, and World’s End Post Office in Leylands Road, Burgess Hill.
