Two men are accused of attacking a woman after allegedly slipping her a date rape drug that knocked her out.
The pair are charged with giving the woman ketamine, which is used to tranquilise horses, before raping her.
The woman had been in a bar in Brighton with friends on the night of the incident.
Maxamis Amad and Gibril Jiofo appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court for the first time on Thursday.
Both Amad, 34, of Marine Parade, Brighton, and Jiofo, 36, of Denton Road, Newhaven, are accused of attacking the woman – who cannot be named for legal reasons – at an address in Brighton.
Neither pleaded to the charge.
