As it was such a beautiful evening, I decided to take a stroll along Marine Parade, away from the hustle and bustle of the lower prom. I walked on the pavement overlooking the wonderful sea. Then, within 100 yards of two community police officers, I was struck from behind by a lady on a bicycle – not hurt too badly but a little shaken.
Then, within another 100 yards, I was clipped on my arm by yet another bicycle.
May I suggest to the Green Party that it is all well and good building cycle lanes for the safety of the cyclists, but I think someone forgot to consider those of us still on foot.
Our city pavements are becoming a race track. How many more people have to be struck before something is done?
