Occupants of a Chichester bungalow had a terrifying night when the roof of their home "collapsed" as they slept inside.
The incident took place in St George’s Close, Selsey, near Chichester, at 1.15am today when part of the roof was damaged by the stormy weather.
Fire crews from West Sussex attended the incident. A spokeswoman said: “The occupants were okay.”
She said firefighters had a busy night attending incidents.
They visited River Road, Arundel, for about the third time in as many days.
“They pumped flood water at 2.30am,” she said.
Inspections of previously flooded properties in Chapel Road, Barns Green, near Billingshurst, and Lambs Farm Road, Horsham, were also carried out.
