Under the heading Brighton and Hove City Council in your looking back at 2013 article (The Argus, December 30) Anston House was mentioned and it was stated that “those living near Anston House – dubbed the ugliest building in Sussex – were relieved when the scheme to revamp the area was thrown out”. Objectors actually came from a wide area of the city.
In fact, it was the scheme to replace Anston House with a tower block of up to 15 storeys which was thrown out by the planning committee. We had no objection to a subsequent planning application to convert the existing building to flats, provided the design of the exterior is satisfactory.
