I am pleased to see the addition of much-needed conveniently sited housing on New England Street in the form of converted shipping containers.
There is a huge shortage of convenient affordable housing for both first-time buyers and those looking to rent.
I assume that some prevailing planning and building regulations were amended or relaxed in order to allow the container housing.
I hope that the council will be similarly accommodating towards more traditionally constructed developments for new housing, housing conversions and redevelopments.
This may help provide more housing in Brighton which younger residents can afford to either buy or rent.
