Two men have been arrested on suspicion of poisoning women clubbers.
Sussex Police arrested the pair, both 22, following allegations poisoning was slipped into drinks at a club in Brighton on New Year's Eve.
A woman reported to door staff at Wahoo West Club in West Street, close to the seafront, that a man approached her and told her he had put poison in her drink.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “Two men, aged 22 from Shoreham and Southwick, have been arrested following an allegation that two women drank from the men's drinks which they thought contained drugs.
“The women, aged 21, reported this at the Wahoo nightclub after feeling ill in the early hours of New Year's Day. They did not require any medical treatment.
“The club acted on the allegation and ejected the men into the custody of officers.
“Police are awaiting forensic results and the men have been bailed until March 15 while enquiries continue.”
