A new business club aims to forge links between the Brighton and Hove’s successful entrepreneurs.

Hosted by City Business Skills at The Gallery restaurant on Whitecross Street, City Business Club will provide an opportunity for business leaders to meet, make connections, discuss current issues affecting trade and also enjoy themselves with colleagues and friends.

The January City Business Club is doubling as a launch event for the College’s new ‘City Alumni’ group, which is aimed at building links with former students, particularly those who are now in successful careers and in a position to provide inspiration, mentoring and possibly employment or apprenticeships to current students.

The college is working with further education alumni specialists ‘Think Alumni’ to maximise the potential of these links while highlighting the success stories of such notable college alumni as Gresham Blake, Clare Rogers (The Treatment Rooms), Ben McKellar (Gingerman) and Darren Fell (Crunch Accountants).

Donna Keenan, City College’s managing director of City Business Skills, said: “The launch of City Alumni is a really exciting new development for the college. We’ve always known that there are so many local people who have used the skills they gained at City College to forge successful careers but until now this has remained a largely untapped resource. We’re now hoping that our alumni links will go from strength to strength in ways that will be of benefit to alumni and current students alike.”
