Just one company will be providing out-of-hours GP services across Sussex from this April.
The county's clinical commissioning groups have awarded a three-year-contract to IC24.
The company, previously known as South East Health, has already been running the service in Brighton and Hove and across East Sussex.
Healthcare company Harmoni (crct) ran a similar service for West Sussex.
However health bosses felt it was better to have one organisation covering the whole county.
Companies were invited to bid for the contract, worth £10 million a year, and IC24 emerged as the preferred bidder.
The company, based in Kent, will also be managing out-of-hours services in east Surrey as part of the contract.
Patients can access GPs out-of-hours via NHS 111.
