A couple celebrate 60 years of marriage next week.
Great-grandparents Les and Jo Langford, both 82, reach their diamond wedding anniversary on January 4.
They married at St Mary's Church, Kemp Town, Brighton, in 1947 after renewing their friendship following the Second World War.
Mr Langford enlisted in the Army in 1940 when he was 16. He served in North Africa and Italy, where he was injured and spent ten months in hospital. He was demobbed in Austria in 1946.
After the war, Mr Langford worked as an engineer in Brighton for 40 years.
He formed Hanover Athletic FC with friends and went on to be club secretary and treasurer when he stopped playing.
Mrs Langford began work as a trainee hairdresser in Dyke Road, Brighton, when she was 14.
The couple, of Hoddern Avenue, Peacehaven, have two daughters, Lesley and Susan, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
