A college has strengthened its French connection.

Catering students from Rouen and Pastry visited City College Brighton and Hove as part of its Interreg New Technologies for Apprenticeships (NTA) contract.

With the help from City College students who went to France for an exchange visit in October, the visitors learnt how to cook some English dishes and prepared lunch in the College’s Gallery restaurant for the English and French partners working on the contract.

Emma Hotson, projects and partnership manager at the college in Pelham Street, said: “We got fantastic feedback from the French visitors about how well the students worked together and the warm welcome they got. By all accounts it was a really positive experience for everyone involved. We're looking forward to our next exchange for hairdressing students in March.

Nikki Dabbs, catering tutor, said: “It was great to link up again with the French students. It meant we could make interesting comparisons between how the French and English colleges work, the different traditional dishes and approaches to cooking. After the hard work was over, it was then really nice to be able to chat and share a meal together in The Gallery.”
