A busy route has reopened after emergency repairs to fix a burst water main.
The A283 Old Shoreham Road was closed both ways between the Red Lion pub and the A27 Shoreham flyover on Tuesday.
A burst main saw gallons of water pour onto the road leaving it at risk on collapse.
It was estimated workers would need three days to make it safe.
However, after less than two it has been reopened.
