Billed as Brighton’s “newest experimental dinner date”, this Thursday night entertainment invites audiences to ringside seats at a murder mystery.

Cabaret star Miss Scarlet has been found dead in her apartment, a bullet in her head and one in her heart. Employer Proud Cabaret has refused to issue a statement but a hardboiled detective is on the case, prowling the smoky club for clues as the regulars (that’s us) are served dinner.

As the waitresses bring out the courses, a parade of feathered and sequinned burlesque performers wiggle and pout under the detective’s watchful eye. So who silenced Miss Scarlet? Well, let’s just say they were hiding in plain sight.

The venue, revamped by owners Alex and Danielle Proud as a chandeliers-and-red leather supper club, provides an appropriately louche setting for an evening of good – if not clean – fun at a hard-to-beat price.
