I write in response to to the letters of Paul Thomas and MB Johnston (December 28).
In supporting the prosecution of Peter Willows for making homophobic comments, they fail to take into account some important points. Peter Willows may have been extremely bigoted in his opinions but his comments were made in private. Had they been made in public, I would have been the first to condemn him.
What has our society degenerated into, if we are no longer allowed to express our opinions in private?
