A man was taken to burns following a fire at a chippie.
The blaze broke out in a fish and chip shop in Trafalgar Road, Portslade, around 7.25pm on Saturday.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue said it was unclear how the fire started.
A service spokesman said: “We were called to a report of a fire.
“The fire was all out by the time we arrived but we used a thermal imaging camera to check.
“A man was taken to hospital suffering burns to his forearms.”
