I would like to draw your attention to a special event organised for the coming summer which will focus on the achievements of our brave servicemen and women.

The 25th anniversary of the Falklands campaign will be commemorated through a number of events and ceremonies.

The liberation of the islands was a huge achievement for our armed forces operating 8,000 miles away in the South Atlantic and, to mark the occasion, the Ministry of Defence has organised a showpiece event on Sunday, June 17, at Horse Guards Parade, London, starting at 2.30pm.

More than 15,000 tickets are available to Falklands veterans, their guests and families, to attend what promises to be a highly memorable commemoration featuring personal recollections by those involved, a fly past, a march past and a drumhead ceremony among much else.

Senior members of the Royal Family will be in attendance.

To apply for a ticket, Falklands veterans should visit the website www.veteransagency.mod.uk and for further information on the campaign, visit www.falklands25.com I would urge any readers who were involved in the conflict to apply now as demand for tickets is expected to be strong.
