In 2001 I was elected to the Older People's Council (OPC). I was returned unopposed at the last election to represent the wards of Hangleton and Knoll and Stanford.
In September 2006, I informed the OPC I had been invited to stand as a candidate in the council elections to be held in May 2007 and had accepted the offer. I was asked to resign with immediate effect.
However, many people still think I represent them on the OPC.
So, I can confirm I have been selected to stand as a candidate to represent the ward of Hangleton and Knoll in the 2007 elections.
I have enjoyed my term of office in the OPC and I wish them the best of fortune in the future.
I will of course still continue all the work I do in the ward via the Hangleton and Knoll Project, the Knoll Community Association, and the Pavilion Committee for the Knoll Recreation Ground.
