A busy A-road has been closed after a section collapsed.
The A269 London Road in Bexhill is subject to an emergency road closure from its junction with St Georges Road in a southerly direction for 125m.
East Sussex County Council said it was investigating the collapse, the extent of which has not yet been established.
A spokesman said: "Until the reason for the collapse is determined it is not possible to say when the road will be reopened but we will send an update when we have further information."
A suggested diversion route will be signed and maintained for the duration of the works as follows:- Via: A269 London Road - A2036 Wrestwood Road - Hastings Road - A259(T) De La Warr Road - King Offa Way - A269 London Road in both directions.
