Detectives are hunting a hit-and-run driver who left a teenager seriously hurt.
Chris Horne, 17, of Monterey Gardens, Bognor, suffered serious leg injuries when his moped and a Volvo collided.
He is being treated in St Richard's Hospital, Chichester.
The Volvo was driven away from the accident in Hawthorn Road, Bognor, at 7.30pm on Sunday.
Sergeant Sally Arbuckle, of Chichester road policing department, said: "To be involved in a road collision and not stop, especially when a person has been badly injured, defies belief."
"I would ask anybody who witnessed the accident or who may have information to contact me.
"I would also ask any garage who is asked to repair a Volvo with front-end damage to come forward.
"To the driver of the car, I would say it is better for you to come forward than it is for us to come and find you."
