I recently travelled by train to Worthing to visit my grandson.
At Worthing East, I paid for "permit to travel" tickets for myself and my wife. We waited for a guard to pay the full fare to but there wasn't one on the train.
When we arrived at Brighton, I went to an employee to ask where we should pay. We were waved through, with no questions asked.
I observed only three passengers pass through the turnstyles using the correct ticket. It is no wonder train fares are so high. Are they running a service or a ticket to freeload?
