I was bemused that Keith Turvey (Letters, January 11) doesn't think it appropriate for Brighton and Hove City Council to use a computer system when allocating school places.
I assume he was writing with quill and parchment? I think he will find computer systems are fairly widespread now.
I hope he doesn't think someone from the council starts out with a pedometer and map from every house containing a Year 6 child, to work out the current "safe walking distance".
