About 20 jobs have been lost in Sussex following the closure of two music stores.
Administrators for Music Zone announced the closure of 31 stores across Britain, including those in George Street, Hove, and Worthing Road, Horsham.
Another 72 branches have survived the cull, including Chichester, Hastings, Eastbourne and Worthing. A buyer is being sought for the remaining shops.
The closures, which were announced yesterday, resulted in 325 redundancies. Music Zone was taken over by administrators Deloitte on January 3.
Bill Dawson, a partner at Deloitte, said: "During the first week of trading the administrators spent a considerable amount of time assessing the viability of the business and the difficult decision was taken to close a number of stores.
"However, we have commenced a marketing strategy to seek a buyer of the business as a going concern and continue to work hard to achieve a positive result for Music Zone."
