An arsonist threw a brick through the back window of a luxury car before setting it alight.
The BMW was torched in Medway Road, Crawley, in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters from Crawley Fire Station were called to the blaze at 2am and spent half an hour extinguishing the fire.
One officer at the scene said: “Thankfully the fire hadn’t spread, so it was confined to the parcel shelf and the back of the car.
“But there was a fair bit of damage.”
The fire was started intentionally and Sussex Police have been informed.
The crew on duty in Crawley were kept busy through the early hours by a string of fires including false alarms and skip fires in the town.
