More than a thousand children took part in fun runs to mark this summer’s Commonwealth Games.
Twenty runners carried torches through six Brighton schools. At each school the torch bearers and pupils ran a lap of the school field.
Alix Macfarlane, of Woodingdean Parents Teachers and Friends Association, said: “The event was a huge success and created a positive sense of community among all.”
Year six sports captains from the schools were torch bearers and Downs View School pupils did the course in all terrain wheelchairs.
The torch bearers visited Saltdean Primary, St Margaret’s, Our Lady of Lourdes, Rudyard Kipling, Downs View and Woodingdean Primary.
Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemp Town, presented medals. The Games start in Glasgow on July 23.
