Sunshine graced the first day of Glorious Goodwood as race fans turned up in their thousands.
The first of five-days of horse racing was held yesterday with more than 10,000 punters pouring through the gates.
The racing continues today at the racecourse, which is five miles north of Chichester.
The headline race this afternoon is the Sussex Stakes at 3.05pm. Tomorrow, will see the Goodwood Cup at 3.10pm with the Betfred Mile at 3.05pm and the Nassau Stakes on Saturday. More than 100,000 punters are expected to take to the stands over the five days.
New for this year is a best dressed competition which will be held on Friday. The best dressed woman in the traditional blue and white of sponsors L’Ormarins will win a five night holiday to Cape Town for two. For details and tickets visit www.goodwood.co.uk.
