Brighton's Great British Bake Off contestant Kate has survived the first round - despite serving up a dry Swiss Roll.
The 41-year-old furniture restorer took on the three challenges as of the Cake Week episode on BBC 1.
Her Red Velvet Swiss Roll with white chocolate buttercream and white flowers was a bit dry for the liking of judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
But they praised the appearance of her creation.
And she got similar criticisms for her attempt at Mary Berry's Classic Cherry Cake in the technical challenge, when she came six out of the 12 contestants.
But in the final round, when bakers had to produce 36 British cakes, her two-tier Victoria Sponges with strawberry jam and topped with butterflies won the praise of show presenters Mel and Sue.
They feasted on the off cuts of her sponge and Sue joked: "You've got the best tasting off cuts in the business."
