TRAVELLERS arrived in West Worthing on Wednesday.
About 20 caravans turned up on open space in West Parade and land next to the George V Avenue roundabout, both owned by Worthing Borough Council. The council said it would carry out a welfare assessment on travellers’ needs, the environmental impact of their presence and the loss of public amenity.
Sussex Police said it had received a number of calls about the encampments.
