EVERY dog had his day as more than a thousand of pooches took part in a special canine festival.
Dog owners flocked to Firle Place, near Lewes, with their hopeful hounds as they joined in the fun and games at Firle Place Dog Festival.
Now in its 12th year, the annual festival boasts to be the region’s biggest dog festival and has been growing in size every year – now playing host to over 1,000 dogs and their owners.
There was plenty to enjoy yesterday as the dogs showed off their skills with the festival’s new “My Dog Has Talent” contest alongside the host of other races and shows.
The festival saw high octane action as dogs took part in the Batcheller Monkhouse Gun Dog Scurry and Terrier Racing – alongside steeple chases and dog agility challenges.
Rosettes were handed out to the champion race dogs and those who scooped up the prizes in the shows that featured categories such as best moving dog, best crossbread and handsomest and Prettiest Dog.
