Police chiefs will answer your questions at a unique event chaired by The Argus.
Readers are invited to grill Sussex Police Chief Constable Giles York, Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Katy Bourne and Chief Superintendent Nev Kemp, commander for Brighton and Hove.
The trio will answer pre-submitted and audience questions at Hove Town Hall on October 6, with topics likely to range from public satisfaction in the police to domestic abuse and travellers.
It is the first in a series of public discussions the crime commissioner will host over the next six months around the county.
The Argus editor Michael Beard, pictured right, will chair the event and put readers’ questions to the panel.
He said: “It is a unique opportunity for our readers and for our audience to question the people at the very heart of policing in their communities.
“We really hope they take advantage of this and we are looking forward to some challenging questions.
“Policing is such an important topic which covers so many different areas, so we hope that people ask the questions that matter to them.”
Organisers are encouraging questions on anti-social behaviour, burglary, domestic abuse, sexual offences, public satisfaction in the police, protests and travellers. But questions can be asked on any topic.
Any questions which are not answered on the night will be answered and published online, unless they contain personal information.
PCC Katy Bourne said: “I’m really looking forward to the first of our Police and Crime Community Conversations and formally introducing Giles York as the new Chief Constable of Sussex.
“I’m particularly delighted that we are bringing this conversation to Hove Town Hall with the Argus.
“Editor Michael Beard will be putting Brighton and Hove residents’ questions to the Chief Constable, Divisional Commander Nev Kemp and me, and chairing what I’m sure will be a lively debate.”
