A woman was pushed into a wall and police are appealing to find out "what happened".
The 36-year-old victim was walking in an alleyway between Wainwrights and Loriners in Southgate, Crawley, at about 4.45am on Sunday (28 September) when she says she was knocked into a wall.
The woman then ran off.
The man was Asian, of medium build, in his mid 30s and 5' 8" to 5' 10". He had short dark hair, was unshaven and was wearing a zip-up dark jumper, dark blue jeans with white turn ups and white trainers with orange detail.
Detective Constable Mike George said: "We don't know exactly what happened in the alleyway but we need to track the man down to find out.
"If you were in the area at about 4.45am and saw or heard anything please call us."
