I welcome some of the national debate about pavement parking but resent the Green MP making what I consider to be hypocritical comments.

Her councillors have made things a lot worse for many residents and visitors to the city by failing to provide adequate parking and loading spaces within their controversial traffic schemes.

The provision of cycle lanes in some streets has made life even more difficult for people going about their everyday business, including tradespeople.

The council has placed even more ‘communal bins’ around the city on pavements and kerbs with little thought for others.

Many of these communal recycling bins are unnecessary and just an excuse to get rid of the door-to-door recycling service.

We do need more cycle parking areas but some of the new ones are unused, badly sited and an obstruction to people who are are trying to get from A to B because they block the pavement.

It would surely have been better to keep most of the safety railings rather than remove them since they could also have been used as ‘overflow’ cycle parking as well as for community notices.

The Greens on the council decided to get rid of most of the safety railings and pelican crossings because of their ridiculous dogma.

The Green Party are, in my opinion, a bunch of inexperienced people with little thought for others and even less common sense!
