A MAN is seriously ill in hospital after he was hit by a car.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the accident in Eastbourne.
The 31-year-old victim and a grey Volvo S40 collided at 10.50pm on September 27, on the A259 Seaside, at the junction with Hydneye Street.
The Eastbourne man was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital by ambulance suffering from two broken legs and head and facial injuries.
He remains seriously ill in hospital.
PC Nigel Dunn said: "I would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or the Volvo or the man in the area in the moments before the crash.
"If you have any information at all, please contact us."
