Tim Ridgway writes that investment is going into the city centre (Argus, October 13) at the expense of the suburbs, but in the case of Circus Street this investment is being used to create what I would describe as new slum conditions in the town centre.
The picture used to illustrate Tim Ridgeway’s article gives a false impression of a sunny courtyard, whereas it will in fact be a shady dark alleyway, with sombre black warehouse like blocks of flats.
The following image gives a more accurate picture of too many buildings crammed on to the site creating over shadowed narrow dreary spaces.
