A cyclist was airlifted to hospital following a collision with a car.
The accident happened at the junction of Carlisle Road and Granville Road, Eastbourne, shortly after 11am on Saturday.
It involved a a silver Renault Megane Scenic car, driven by a 38-year-old Eastbourne man and a grey Cannondale bike, ridden by a 46-year-old man, also from Eastbourne.
The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to St George's Hospital, Tooting, London, where he is in a serious but stable condition.
The car driver was unhurt.
The scene was cordoned off and the road was closed for more than four hours while emergency services were at the scene.
