Another year, and another revelation about MPs receiving humongous wonga from second jobs.
Some of you may be surprised to hear that two local MPs netted six figure sums, in addition to the £65,000 plus allowances a year from Westminster.
The MPs I know slave away for 70+ hours a week - so when is there time to do extra work?
Yet regardless of how many negative headlines there are about this additional income, there seems to be no backlash.
One in particular - Nicholas Soames, of Mid Sussex - shows no remorse about it whatsoever.
When I raised it with him, he simply batted the question away saying he had done nothing legally wrong.
And those in his constituency hardly seem bothered - as if it's natural that someone elected to serve the public should spend his spare time mixing in boardrooms representing arms companies.
It's not right. And if I had anything to do with it, I'd outlaw the practice completely.
If politicians need extra wonga to pay for their extravagant lifestyle then I suggest they take a trip to pay day loan company and see how hard life can be for many they are supposed to represent.
